ABOUT WENDY
In retrospect, I guess being brought up on the Isle
of Wight, a stone's throw from Osbourne House,
Queen Victoria's Island retreat, accounts for my
abiding love of history and the fact that I
instinctively started making up stories featuring
people a long time dead when I was still a small
child. We have Carisbrooke Castle too, where
Charles 1 was held prior to his execution, plus
Roman ruins and all sorts of other interesting
castles and stately homes dating back hundreds of
years. I suppose I must have absorbed the
historical vibes through osmosis and certainly didn't
think there was anything strange about living this
fantasy world inside my head. Everyone does that,
don't they?
Nowadays I'm very much a nomad, My husband Andre and I live in
Andorra but also spend time on the Costa Blanca in Spain and in
Florida. Jake Bentley, a rescued dog of indeterminate pedigree,
condescends to share our lives. Perhaps my lifestyle explains why, having
had five historical romances published by Robert Hale in England, I'm now
focusing entirely on e-publishing. Ebooks are increasing in popularity at
an astonishing rate and focusing on that market means I can write
wherever I happen to be in the world, doing all my promotion on line.
An innovation made in heaven for this particular gipsy writer.
My alter-ego, W. Soliman, writes marine crime mysteries. Andre and I
have had boats, (with motors, not sails, I hasten to add!), and...well, you
know what they say, write about what you know. I've spent hours at sea,
staring at the wide expanses of ocean, and at other passing boats, all the
time wondering, what if?
My series of marine mysteries, The Hunter Files, kicks off in October with Unfinished Business from Carina Press. Pop over to my W. Soliman
website by clicking the button at the top right hand corner of this screen
and find out more about that, and other titles under that banner.
Whichever of my books you decide to read, I do hope you enjoy them.
Please contact me and let me know what you think. I'd love to hear from
you.
